ARRIVALS
1 hour (for soloists), 1h30min (for groups) before your scheduled time. ALL dancers should have their hair done in a ballet bun at home. We will help with young dancers’ make-up at the venue. Due to COVID, please, bring your own make-up. Details of what to bring are in the Competition Essentials below.
All senior students to do their hair and make-up at home. Often at competitions, there is no mirrors or space to fix make-up and hair. Better be ready.
LATENESS
Please, be at the venue at the latest 1,5 hours before, if your dancer is part of the group. Sometimes, the only chance we have for kids to practice on stage is in the first 15 min of this 1,5 hour. If your child gets there even by 5-10 min late, she might miss the only opportunity to practice on stage. If such a situation occurs, and all the group gets to practice, except your child, there is a good chance that it will be this dancer who will make mistakes while performing, bringing the score down for the whole group.
CONTACT ME
Plan ahead for your travel (directions, time, extra time for traffic). If you have any questions for me or Karmia, please, call us during the morning of the event, latest. The final couple of hours before the event we are usually VERY BUSY unloading costumes, sorting out changing rooms, welcoming arriving students, organizing music with the local music manager, and sorting out hundreds of other problems. As a rule, please, try to avoid calling us during rehearsals, competitions, examinations, concerts. Very often we are just unable to answer the phone due to the fact that we are in the auditorium with other kids performing on stage.
